Challenges For Older Adults
Three of the biggest challenges for older adults are convenient transportation, avoiding falls, and maintaining a healthy social life. The Denver Post ran an article on Saturday, July 28, 2012, entitled “A Little Help.” The article was about a group in Washington Park that provides aging homeowners with volunteer help for daily tasks. Members pay an annual fee and receive volunteer help with transportation, minor home repairs, and maintenance projects. What a wonderful idea.
Helping Hands is another volunteer group that helps the elderly. Spirit of Christ Catholic Church in Arvada, Colorado sponsors this group.
